popup text effect

Do you like the effect you see in the banner? It is quite trending now in Instagram carousels and in design in general. This popup text effect is very very easy to create in photoshop and would take hardly 2 minutes of your precious time to learn.

Thanks to Israr for his helpful video and for making it easy to understand. So without further delay, learn how to get this cool effect.

Step 1:

Write your text in separate layers. For example here, “Popup”, “Text”, “Effect”, all 3 goes in separate layers. This is done so that you can apply effect individually to each layer and word.

Step 2:

Rearrange them accordingly. Align the text properly and how you want to see the text. Then arrange the text layers as well. Arrange them in the way you want to see the effect. For example, here, the layer with “Popup” will be on top, then “Text”, and then “Effect”.

Step 3:

Double click on the top layer to open the layer style option. There, use the drop shadow option to apply the shadow as you want. You can use the setting as shown in the video or as you like. Depends on your style.

Step 4:

Copy the layer style by right clicking on the layer you just applied drop shadow to. Then paste this layer style on other layers. And VOILA!! You got a good looking popup text effect.
