OnePlus Rolls Out Its First Logo Redesign And New Visual Identity

Mobile company OnePlus unveiled its first logo redesign and a new visual identity with the goal to make the OnePlus brand more easily identifiable and versatile.

This is the first time Oneplus has changed its brand identity. The new OnePlus logo has a curvilinear number 1, and a new font for better readability. The biggest change here we can see is the number “1,” with the brand shifting to a curvilinear design.

Moreover, OnePlus is also updating its color palette to include cyan, green, magenta, indigo, and yellow.

The visual identity is accompanied by a fresh color palette which centers on OnePlus’s iconic red, followed by an updated secondary palette of cyan, green, magenta, indigo, and yellow to make the company’s design and assets more vibrant and lively. A new font also improves legibility and is easier on the eyes.

As per Mats Hakansson, global creative director of OnePlus, they worked for 7 months with their in-house creatives and an external agency to bring the “refreshed brand identity to life.” He also says:

OnePlus is not changing who we are, but reinforcing what we stand for – the true spirit of Never Settle. We always design for our users. We feel that these changes maintain the iconic elements of our brand that are beloved by our staff and our community while injecting both excitement and balance into our visual identity.

OnPlus knows no detail is too small and by analyzing thousands of user data points, they arrived at this new design and identity. Mats Hakansson says:

No detail is too small. By starting from thousands of user data points, the team arrived at a new holistic visual language inspired by OnePlus’ burdenless philosophy.

The new logo and visual identity are live right now on the OnePlus website in India, China, and the US. Whereas, it is yet to update the logo and visual identity on the global website.

Also, you can check the OnePlus brand assets now. The OnePlus brand asset includes updated logos and lockups that retain the classic OnePlus look with a more balanced feel.

We increased the logo’s thickness, simplified the number and made the plus sign a more connected part of the logo, to create a more modern, concise and recognizable image.

OnePlus has grown a lot from an idea to a major smartphone player. Introducing a fresh new look is just one example of how we continue to bring our ‘Never Settle’ mantra to life.
